Welcome. There are a lot of cool people in this forum. I'm sure you'll find it very motivating. Check out the Publishing section for market postings. Those are always good idea generators for me.

Yeah, I was just looking at the cost and I cannot afford it alone. If I don't get a taker in the next few days I'm going to cancel my con hotel room and get a cheaper one out by the airport and just do transit in.

FYI, I'm looking for someone to split a hotel room with me. I have a reservation at the con hotel for Thurs, Fri, & Sat night.

Good news everyone!

Furry Trash is alive and well again!
I'll be staying on as editor, but the lovely folks at Rabbit Valley will be publishing the anthology now.
At this stage we're sticking to the original timeframe, but if people need extensions on the deadline then that will be fine.
Payment rates will remain as originally quoted.
Jay, since the publisher has changed does the email to send submissions to change as well? What about the guidelines?

I do well with humor and with plotting (been complimented on both by my writing groups!)

"'s your cow" anthology.

This isn't a furry anthology perse, but furry stories are welcome. It is an informal submission call, sponsored by Frog Jones.

The call is here:

Here are the details for those who don't use facebook:
This isn't so much a theme anthology. Write whatever you want to write. Stay PG-13. But, the first 2 lines of your story should be as follows:
"So, do we think this is a good idea?"
"'s your cow."

Feel free to add dialogue tags to those lines as appropriate. Yes, some of you are way past writing to prompts. We're going to talk to Nathan Reed and see if we can get one of his great cartoons, this time involving a distressed cow with big ol' bug eyes. We feel like this will sell.

Since Esther and I are funding this ourselves, we aren't going to be tracking royalties. We will be paying up front, but the rate will be $.01/word. We know that's not pro rate, and if you won't write to that amount we understand. Reprints are probably unlikely, but fine if it works with that prompt. Also, we will have no problem with you publishing the story elsewhere; we will not be asking for exclusive rights, only the right to print the story in this particular anthology and profit therefrom.

Looking for up to 5,000 words; if more than that they'd better be really good words. Capping out at around 80,000 for the anthology.

Submissions should be sent to with COW SUBMISSION in the subject line.

I will expect to start reading submissions in September, and would set a hard deadline on stories for the end of September.
